September 17th Israel update

Hello everyone!

This is the Copper Scroll Project update for September 17th, 2008

The meeting with the archaeologist went great!  We had a long discussion
about the dig (about an hour) and talked about several important things.
He came to us! Wow they are really taking my research serious!  We also
have some other meetings planned with the archeologist while Chris and I
are here.  Hence the email.

PLEASE…tell everyone you know to pray that we have special favor with
the Father for the next few days.  I can’t go into details but it could
change the whole course of events in one hour and lock us in for a long
term stay.

Yuval is a very down to earth kinda guy and is very willing to work with
us.  He is planning to get us a letter for the investors on Sunday so pray
especially hard for that day!!

We have strong hopes for the near future.  Remember, we are in God’s hands
about the project.  I can’t tell you how many volunteers will get to come
over if any.  The government of Israel and the funding will make that
decision.  So for those of you that don’t get to come, please know we
tried very hard to get you here.  But, everyone must remember, the purpose
of this project is to get the Copper Scroll Items back into the hands of
Israel, anything above that will simply be a blessing.

Well, keep us in your prayers…

Jim Barfield

So what is the Copper Scroll?

“Under the ruins in the Vale of Achor, forty cubits under the steps entering to the east: are seventeen talents.”

So begins the most intriguing and baffling of the scrolls to be found among the collection known as the Dead Sea Scrolls, the metal document called the…Copper Scroll. Baffling because it has never before been understood and intriguing because of the vast amount of buried gold, silver, gems, and biblical artifacts listed in the incredible text. The words of the Copper Scroll (as translated) read like no other found in the ancient library of scrolls of the Dead Sea and potentially hold the key to finding the Alter of Incense, the Tabernacle of Moses, and the most sought after prize in archeology, the Ark of the Covenant.
